Our Organization

Our Association

Since its re-activation in 1999, the Building Officials Association of Louisiana (BOAL) has been dedicated to the building code enforcement profession. As an organization, it is our goal to foster communication and education between Building Officials, Plans Examiners, Inspectors and Associate (Industry) Members.

A professional, member-based, state-wide organization comprised of Code Officials from nearly every jurisdiction in Louisiana.

Purpose of BOAL

To promote maximum safety to life, health, and property, at minimum building cost, through education and training of Code Officials of Louisiana's local government.

To create a better public understanding and appreciation of the importance of proper administration and enforcement of building regulations to the safety, welfare, and prosperity of the local governments of Louisiana.

To improve the prestige of building officials who enforce building regulations, through education and training that promote higher standards of efficiency in the administration and enforcement of building laws.

To assemble with government officials and others concerned with building regulations at conferences and seminars to exchange ideas and discuss mutual problems.

To actively promote energy conservation throughout the State of Louisiana as it relates to the built environment, and to provide continuing education to building officials, government officials, and design and construction industry professionals relative to the mean and methods of energy conservation
