The LCAA was formed to provide resources and training to municipal attorneys. It is governed by an Executive Board elected annually by the membership, and staffed by the Louisiana Municipal Association. Questions regarding the LCAA should be directed to the LMA office.
Dues of $40.00 are assessed annually to each individual member. Individuals, not firms or organizations, are members of the LCAA. There are no associate memberships. However, assistant municipal attorneys or others may join on the same basis as municipal attorneys. Invoices are mailed by February of each year. If you did not get your dues invoice , you are probably not listed in our database as a city attorney or assistant city attorney. Send your name, address, and the municipality you represent to the LMA office (contact info), and we will send you a dues invoice. Inclusion in our database as a city attorney will provide you with a subscription to the Louisiana Municipal Review, the LMA's monthly newspaper. Assistant city attorneys may subscribe to the Review for $12.00 per year, or may read current and back issues of the Review at the Louisiana Municipal Review Home Page.
The annual conference is held in the fall, and provides 8 hours of CLE in workshops specifically selected to benefit municipal attorneys. In addition, the LCAA offers 4 hours of CLE at the Spring Conference. Membership in the Louisiana City Attorneys' Association will allow you to attend these workshops at a reduced rate.
