INSTRUCTOR: Bryan Holland

Bryan started his electrical career right out of high school as an apprentice electrician. He soon became a journeyman electrician, master electrician, and licensed electrical contractor. Shortly after becoming a contractor, Bryan accepted a position with the Electrical Council of Florida as an electrical apprenticeship instructor and course developer. He then became an approved electrical course provider by the Florida Electrical Contractors’ Licensing Board.

In 2004, Bryan obtained his first International Code Council (ICC) certification. He was then hired by the City of North Port, Florida as an electrical inspector and plans examiner. He was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2011 and then Building Official in 2012. Bryan currently holds not less than ten professional licenses, over twenty FEMA certifications, and thirty-four ICC certifications including Master Code Professional.

Bryan is a member of the NFPA, ICC, and IAEI. He currently serves as the President and Secretary of the IAEI – Joseph A Schneeberger / Florida Gulf Coast Division and as President of the Building Officials Association of Florida – Gulf Coast Chapter. In addition to his duties as an officer, Bryan is an instructor and course developer for the IAEI, BOAF, and the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Bryan has also served on several Underwriters Laboratories - Standard Technical Panels and as a consulting editor for the Informer Newsletter.

In 2010, Bryan received the ‘Code of Honor Scholar’ award from the ICC Foundation. This same year, the BOAF named Bryan as the Golf Coast Chapter ‘Code Official of the Year’. In 2011, he received the BOAF Gulf Coast Chapter ‘Inspector of the Year’ award. In 2012, the BOAF named Bryan as the ‘Florida State – Inspector of the Year’.
